SOUNDS OF THE CITY

SOUNDS OF THE CITY

PERSONAL PROJECT, UNPUBLISHED

Selected proposal for the advertising campaign “Sounds of the City”, under the slogan “The City, Soundboard of the Citizens”.

It is a metaphor of a young pianist who creates music through the movements of her delicate fingers, symbolising the citizens of the UK producing sounds through their daily actions. The music of the pianist resounds in the soundboard, just as the city is the soundboard of all the citizens’ sounds.

The Association of Illustrators (AOI) in collaboration with London Transport Museum (LTM) organizes each year the “Prize for Illustration” and the proposed subject was “Sounds of the City”, an illustrated interpretation of the urban sounds. The contest is open to illustrators from around the world. One hundred works are selected and exhibited in London Transport Museum, and the winner one is shown in London Underground.
